Brian Kahn
Brian has over 25 years of experience in law enforcement. Throughout these 25 years, he has held assignments that include training new personnel, investigating and documenting criminal violations, internal investigations, community relations, uniform patrol, traffic enforcement, emergency preparedness, security and tactical assessments, liability assessments, and supervision. Brian has participated in the development and implementation of policy, budget formation, and on-going employee training and evaluation. In March of 2016, Brian was appointed as the Director of Emergency Preparedness for the City of Livonia.
As the Director of Emergency Preparedness he is responsible for the preparedness and emergency response efforts for the City of Livonia, which employs approximately 635 people and has a population of almost 100,000 citizens.
Brian has also worked as an on-call fire fighter for a local municipality passing both the fire fighter I and fire fighter II training as well as holding a EMT-B certification. He has countless hours of in-service training that include management, leadership, investigations, accident reconstruction, tactics and training in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Brian is currently a certified State of Michigan Professional Emergency Manager and has well over 2000 hours of specialized training in disaster response, preparedness, planning and recovery. He has credentialing for specific incident command positions as part of the National Incident Management System and National response Framework. In 2012, Brian obtained Master of Business Administration from Madonna University.
